Snowdrop Elementary School (SES) and Pittsburgh Dialog Foundation celebrated
INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY on April 30th 2006 at Kelly-Strayhorn Theater.
The event brought children from over seven ethnic communities in Pittsburgh
and more than 200 people together.

Indian dance group from Sri Venkateswara Temple, Korean Central Church of
Pittsburgh Dance Group, Snowdrop Elementary School Folk Dance Group and Michael Spak
from Kyiv Ukrainian dance ensemble performed during the event. Pakistani community of Pittsburgh
has also joined the celebrations with a fashion show featuring traditional clothes. The celebration is concluded by Snowdrop Elementary
School students singing “It’s a small world after all”.

April 23rd International Children’s Day was dedicated to children of World by the
founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to emphasize that they
are our future. In Turkey this day is celebrated with the attendance of children
from all over the world. During their stay in Turkey, the foreign children are housed
in Turkish homes and find the opportunity to interact with the Turkish kids and
learn about each other’s cultures.
